SOBR

We continue to gather stories of addiction and recovery, focused on stories of success, no matter how hard-won or how small. We want to let others struggling with addiction know that they are not alone, and that no matter how difficult things seem, there is always a path toward healing.

Earlier this month we set up a public studio at a recovery banquette in St. Cloud, led by the Recovery Community Network.

It was a celebration of recovery. It was an evening of peer support. It was a good meal and an inspiring speaker and live music.

A Peace of My Mind set up our studio and asked people attending, “What has helped you move toward healing?” And below, you’ll find some of the responses.

Many thanks to the Minnesota State Arts Board and the arts and cultural heritage fund for supporting this work.

John Noltner is a fiscal year 2025 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

  1. Hi John,
It was wonderful to see all these beautiful faces of recovery and hear their words. It gives me so much hope! I am very familiar with this recovery community and their good works! Bravo to you for sharing their story and for their incredible work in their community.

  2. Great work of healing. You are unique in your approach of helping people to discover their way and purpose for living. We met at Good Deeds Day some years back.

    1. Please,in addition to my earlier response would you be please to share me the slide of the responses of the those people who had tread the healing path from addictions for use in reaching out those that are still in it? I have a boy who is into drug…the only boy in the family. We have done all we could as parent…
I think using these testimonials could help him and other like him using your approach of gathering them together. Christmas time is around the corner of which it could be helpful.
